More About The People's Operator

The People's Operator (TPO) is a prepaid cell phone service that is compatible with both Sprint phones as well as GSM technology. This means any Sprint or GSM compatible phones are likely to be supported by The Peoples Operator. The People's Operator donates 10% of their members monthly bill to a charity of their choosing. TPO believes in giving back and includes this 10% in your plan price at no additional cost. The People's Operator offers many types of phones from companies like Samsung, LG, and Apple. The People's Operator does not currently offer monthly installments for phones which means customers will need to pay for the device in full.

Customers who have their own phone can now switch to TPO and activate their old device. TPO’s “Bring Your Own Phone” program will support any compatible device on Sprint or any GSM supportive phone. Phones on the “Bring Your Own Phone” program would need to be unlocked in order to activated on TPO. Once the phone has been unlocked, customers can select as service plan, a new SIM card, and begin the sign up process directly on TPO’s website.

The 10% charity donation is an advantage TPO has on the cell phone service industry. Each plan has a 10% donation to any charity already included in the price. TPO is partnered with over 40 charities as of April 2016 and you can freely choose which charity you would like your 10% to be donated too. This donation is tied into the monthly plan cost.

Fast Facts: TPO

The People Operator (TPO for short) is a MVNO (mobile virtual network operator) that runs on the Sprint and T-Mobile networks and provides service both to the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

  • Network: TPO operates on Sprint's nationwide 3G/4G CDMA network in the 1900 MHz PCS band. Sprint's LTE band frequency supports bands 25 and 41. T-Mobile's 4G LTE network uses bands 4 and 12. These bands use the frequencies 1900, 1700 def, and 700a. For phones using 2G or 3G network technology, the T-Mobile network will primarily use the 1900 MHz frequency.
  • Coverage: TPO runs on T-Mobile and Sprint's networks, ranked #3 and #4 in national coverage tests, respectively.
  • Where to Buy: TPO is an online-only carrier, and you buy phones and plans via WhistleOut or the company's website.
  • Bring Your Own Phone to TPO: To bring your own phone to TPO, you'll need to have an unlocked GSM phone or Sprint-compatible device. Check your device's compatibility on TPO here
